VVOL volumes are not providing data to Turbonomic. So the data cannot be stitched.

A customer with a vcenter target utilizing Pure Storage is missing  storage capacity and usage information (storage access IOPS / latency) in Turbo for some VMs, but are getting those metrics for other VMs discovered from the same vCenter target , the difference per the customer seems to be with all vms running on pure storage set up with vvol
These metrics show up on the vcenter side for these VMs where it is missing. The customer has no storage targets added explicitly, but we still expect to see these metrics discovered from vCenter. A JIRA ticket by engineering   TRB-51843 confirmed that Turbonomic does NOT currently stitch that information in.

Business Impact: The customer has historically used the numbers for capacity planning and sizing. Before vvols, they were able to run a plan that would estimate the instance and storage types needed to migrate VMs to AWS. Without the numbers, the plan recommends storage based on zero IOPs. There may also be a need in the future for potential show back or charge back.

This would be very helpful to us. We use VVOLS at Morningstar. Without this we are unable to see IOPS values for the Pure Storage shelves. This makes it very difficult troubleshooting storage with Turbonomic.

I cant believe we are the only company that uses Turbonomic and Pure Storage with VVOLS. VVOLS isn't a Pure storage metric. VVOLS is a VMware metric.

    Thanks
