TWS job and job stream char limit increase

pmr 744070,082,00

This PMR addresses the question about the
jobstream character limit. I found that a request has been made to
change the character limit for both jobstream and job names from 16 and
40 to 40 and 64 respectively. I tested the jobstream length limit on an
8.5.1 MDM and see that the 16 character limit is still in place.
The original request was made through an old process no longer used.
The record number for that request is MR0417095010. To move forward
please access the RFE (Request for Enhancement) utility through this
link. You'll be able to request and enhancement and open up a
discussion with the TWS team that is able to make the necessary
evaluations.

The requirement is valid but currently out of plan. Since it's been open for too many years we close it, please re-open it if appropriate.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - Cloud
Product family - Workload Automation and Control Desk
Product - IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

Product family - ITSM Automation and Control Desk
Product - IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS)

As a user/admin of the system, having such restricted jobstream names limits make it very difficult to properly name streams so that they are meaning full. especially when multiple system/applications share the same host.
For me this is a major requirement and issue with the product.

    Thank you.

This requirement has been long known. The mere increase incurs a cost which alone is not justified by the benefits. This requirement might be inserted together with other modification and will be considered for the next round.
