Remove 1,000 character limitation on the comment field of job stream objects

Prior to IWS v10.1, there was not a 1000 character limit.  We often exceed this limit due to taking notes on each change to a stream. This is a business practice which we have used for over 10 years.  Ever since the upgrade, we cannot add any more notes.  This is frustrating because we no longer have a place within the stream itself to review history, we now need to find a different tool to track notes.

Good day, I would like to add my company, which operates in the financial services industry, to the list of customers impacted by this constraint. We have been using Workload Application Templates for several years now, including version 9.4.0.6, and we never saw this issue until we upgraded to version 10.1.0.4. Unfortunately, we do not have a 9.4 environment any longer to perform testing in to prove this out, but we have other jobs and schedules with comments that are greater than 1000 bytes and we do not allow direct database edits.

    Please consider prioritizing this RFE.

Thank you for taking this into consideration.

Just to be clear, we never update the comments via direct database updates. We only every use the GUI or composer. I can see that the "V9.x Manage Workload Definitions" option in the DWC still allows us to add more than 1000 characters. Also, prior to updating to v10.1, we could add more than 1000 characters. It was not until we were on v10.1 where we noticed this. Specifically, I opened a stream to edit it and when I tried to add comments, that was the first time I was met with not being able to type any more characters.

The limitation has always existed, the point is that you have been bypassing the controls working directly on the database that should be never done. Anyway, we accept the idea just to remove the overall limit.
