We are requesting that the DWC time field support the more conventional 12:00 - 12:59 AM/PM and/or 24 hour clock value.

An inconsistency was discovered in the DWC Workload Designer that impacts time fields, such as Earliest Start, Latest Start, Deadline, etc. We are unable to specify any value between 12:01 and 12:59, whether AM or PM. Specifying 12:00 is allowed.  To specify a value within this range, you must set the hour as 00 and select the AM or PM as needed. This will save the correct value in the definition.

We ask that you consider the following with respect to the current implementation:

  1. The time fields currently accept 12:00 for AM and PM, but do not accept 12:01 through 12:59.  That is inconsistent behavior because we would expect the field to accept the full ranges of either 12:00-12:59 or 00:00-00:59.
  2. Using values like 00:01 AM and 00:01 PM is not the conventional way to express times for the midnight and noon hour.  I think that Japanese common usage is an exception, where 00 AM and 00 PM are used for start of day midnight and noon, respectively.  12pm is used to indicate end of day midnight.
