Improvement Suggestion: API for Bulk Release (Unhold) of Jobs in TWSz

Currently, in TWSz, we use the JobStreamInPlan API to place all jobs of a specific application on hold efficiently. This capability is very useful for bulk control during maintenance windows, incident handling, or deployment activities.

However, there is a gap when it comes to releasing (unholding) these jobs. At present, the jobs must be manually released one by one, which is time-consuming, error-prone, and inefficient—especially for large job streams or critical applications.

Proposed Enhancement

Introduce a corresponding API that enables bulk unhold (release) of jobs for a specific application or job stream in a single operation.

Benefits

  • Operational Efficiency: Eliminates the need for manual release of individual jobs, saving significant time.
  • Reduced Human Error: Minimizes the risk of missing jobs or incorrect releases.
  • Automation Enablement: Allows seamless integration with automation workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and incident recovery procedures.
  • Consistency: Ensures all jobs are reliably released together, maintaining process integrity.

Expected Outcome

With this enhancement, users can both hold and release jobs programmatically at scale, enabling better operational control and improving overall productivity in TWSz environments.
