For example, a unique job ID is generated in an upgraded version that is different than the old version. If there is official documentation that describes how the Big Bang upgrade generates the unique job ID and associates it to the old version's job statistics history, and/or just a list of "these are the scripts that upgrade the historical statistics", and/or a list of equivalent fields, then customers can work out for themselves if necessary how to upgrade only specific workstations' jobs for a particular upgrade project phase.
