Retain user filters and formatting when production refreshes

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

When Production updates, filters, column pickers etc are rest to default.  This is resulted in a bad experience for our users, they lose the focus on the data they were analyzing.

In Demand Planning we collect data from thousands of users and this data has to be refresh in production frequently to provide reporting for the Demand submissions.  However the frequently publish schedule has made this refresh/reset issue more apparent and has impacted planners in their analysis and presentations with CIO's.

We have explored two ideas:

  1) Change to Manual Refresh: This kind of works, however they have to remember the extra step when they change their filters to manually refresh the data.  Reports with multiple tables/graphs can become inconsistent.

  2) Saved View: doesn't work, it reverts back to the default view when production refreshes.

(Global filters are too sticky and cause errors in reports that contain data from different models, our users don't like them and it doesn't solve the column picker reset issue)

Ideal suggestion: Allow filters and pickers to remain selected when production refreshes and only revert to default when the focus changes to another report or the browner is refreshed.

Alternate suggestion:  Maintain the currently active saved view when production refreshes.
