Ability to Nest Contracts through Parent Child Contract Relationship

Business Need:

We need the ability to nest contracts within Apptio Planning Contracts.  We are looking for the ability to have a parent contract line showing the contract date for the enterprise and then the child entries split out by our divisions and regions.  This would allow one contract to be used across multiple divisions showing the main details of the contract - start and end dates, total spend, etc. with the child entry showing the cost breakdown by each division / region until it totals the total contract cost.

Benefits:

This would save us from having to enter all of the contract line details multiple times across multiple lines and validating that the total contract cost totals out.  This would also allow us to show back the cost breakdown by division / region and allow us to put separate POs for each division / region if invoiced separately.

Approach:

Create the ability to nest multiple contracts under one primary contract with the ability to total up costs through a parent child contract relationship.
