Enhancement Request: Granular RBAC for Admin Users with Restricted Raw Data Visibility in Apptio Studio

Problem Statement :- In the current Apptio Studio implementation, users with Admin or development-level access have unrestricted visibility into all raw data tables, including highly sensitive datasets such as workforce/person-level information.

In shared environments , this creates a significant data governance and compliance risk, as:

  • Sensitive datasets contain person-level information such as employee names, IDs, email addresses, salary bands, job family, funding organizations, and work locations.
  • These datasets are broadly accessible and exportable to all users with development/admin access.
  • The environment currently does not enforce the principle of least privilege, exposing identity + sensitive attributes together.

This level of access may lead to unintentional or intentional misuse of confidential data, and does not align with enterprise data protection standards.

 

Proposed Solution :- Introduce granular Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) within Apptio Studio that separates administrative capabilities from data visibility.
