Bring Your Own S3 Bucket Support for IBM FinOps Agent (Containers Metric Deployment)

The IBM FinOps Agent currently requires outbound connectivity to transmit container metrics, which presents challenges for private or highly regulated Kubernetes environments.

We propose introducing a “Bring Your Own S3 Bucket” (BYOS3) deployment mode that allows the FinOps Agent to write metric data to a customer-managed S3 bucket within the organization’s cloud account. Cloudability could then securely ingest data from that bucket without requiring direct internet access from the cluster.

This enhancement would simplify network compliance, reduce onboarding effort, and enable consistent FinOps Agent deployment across private and restricted environments.
