Enable Hierarchical Business Mapping Using Existing Business Dimensions - all hierarchy levels

Many organizations use ServiceNow CMDB as the system of record for application ownership and business alignment. After integrating Cloudability with ServiceNow, we can automatically retrieve metadata such as:

  • Enterprise
  • Business Group
  • Application Name

from an application identifier (for example, Application Number) associated with cloud resources.

Enhancement Request : Allow customers to create hierarchical business mappings using existing business dimensions and imported CMDB attributes, for example: 

Enterprise 
└─ Business Group 
      └─ Application Name

instead of maintaining separate flat dimensions or manually managed business structures.

Why this matters: As organizations mature their FinOps practice, cloud cost accountability shifts from infrastructure views to business ownership views. Native support for hierarchical CMDB-driven business structures would significantly improve governance, reporting, and stakeholder adoption.
