Enable Dashboard Creation and Management via API in Cloudability

Enable customers to create, configure, and manage Cloudability dashboards programmatically through APIs. Currently, dashboard creation and widget management is only possible through the Cloudability UI, which doesn't scale for teams managing multi-account, multi-team reporting needs.

As a CloudOps team managing cost reporting and FinOps governance across a large multi-account AWS estate, we regularly need to stand up new dashboards for different squads, cost centers, and reporting cycles (monthly spend reviews, AI/GenAI cost attribution, EC2 optimisation tracking, etc.). Today this means manually rebuilding dashboards and widgets in the UI every time, which doesn't scale and can't be integrated into our existing automation (GitLab CI/CD, Terraform, internal reporting pipelines).

Being able to create, configure, and manage dashboards via API would let us:

  • Version-control dashboard definitions alongside our infrastructure-as-code
  • Auto-provision standard dashboards for new accounts/squads as they onboard
  • Keep dashboard structure consistent across teams instead of manual duplication
  • Integrate Cloudability reporting into internal tooling without UI dependency

This would significantly reduce operational overhead for API-first FinOps teams. Related: an existing idea (CLOUDY-I-1740) requests the same capability but has no IBM response yet — this would benefit from prioritization.

API endpoint to manage Dashboards

As Cloudability admin I would like to be able to retrieve, create, update and delete cloudability dashboards programmatically so I can keep track of changes to these in a infrastructure as code fashion.
