Restricted read-only permissions for non-technical users of custom dashboards Merged

As an Instana admin configuring access to non-technical users who use Instana only to view custom dashboards,

I want to ensure that such users can only view specific custom dashboards and not be able to:

  • Create new custom dashboards

  • Duplicate existing custom dashboards

  • View Settings

so that I can be assured these non-technical users can't change or view anything more than they have to.

Custom dashboards and sharing them in a more refined manner is part of our goals, as we recognize that just private or public dashboards does not cover all scenarios our customers have.
Our plan is to improve dashboard sharing capabilities later this year or early next year, depending on our immediate next 2-3 items.
