Why is it useful?
Existing and new customers spend a lot of time doing the parsing of events received by generic probes (as syslog, snmp, glf, etc) since those include a generic rules file. However, most of them have custom Object Servers Columns to meet their internal operational requirement. If an Events parsing tool exist, customer teams (expert labs team and BPs consultants) will spend lees time to do parsing and they could focus on enrichment, analytics capacilities.
Who would benefit from it?
Existing and new customers, Expert labs and BPs consultant as well.
How should it work?
1.- It should be installed as part of Probe Support component or OMNIbus Core.
2.- Add a probe property to indicate that we're use the events parsing tool, when it is enabled, the tool opens
3.- This new tool should have drag & drop capability to move each token ($number) received via probe to each OMNIbus column (e.g. @Node, @CustomColumn1,etc) and also for internal variables used for calculations, extracts, etc
4.- Once rules file developer has finished the parsing, it should be able to get a new rules file ready for use it in the probe.
