Merged idea
This idea has been merged into another idea. To comment or vote on this idea, please visit IRISCART-I-2321 Right click option on Incident Viewer page for 'Take ownership' of an incident.

allow an operator to assign an incident to himself Merged

When an incident is unassigned, the operator must click the Assignees section (click), then the owner dropdown (click) and find his name in the list (typing a few letters) and select it (click). Then the operator must click the Status dropdown (click) and choose "in progress" (click). That's a lot of clicks just to begin working on an incident. Instead, the status field could have an "assign to me" option (2 clicks) or maybe a button somewhere (1 click) -- the system assigns it to the user and changes the status to "in progress."

Thanks for submitting this idea. It's a good one and we've promoted this and it's on our development backlog. I don't have a timeline for delivery right now but will update you when I do.

In Netcool one can right click on an alert and assign it. We need something as simple and straightforward as that.
