Streamline "Take Ownership" Action: Auto-Acknowledge Alerts and Remove User Group Selection Pop-up

We are requesting an enhancement to the Alert Viewer Take Ownership workflow to reduce unnecessary operator actions and improve alert triage efficiency.

Currently, operators must perform multiple manual actions to take responsibility for an alert and update its state, even though these actions are typically part of a single operational workflow.

Current Behavior

When a user right-clicks an alert and selects Take Ownership:

  1. A Select User Group pop-up is displayed.

  2. The user must select a user group and confirm the action.

  3. Ownership is assigned to the logged-in user.

  4. The alert remains in an Unacknowledged state.

  5. The user must perform a separate Acknowledge action to mark the alert as acknowledged.

Expected Behavior

When a user selects Take Ownership:

  1. Ownership should be assigned directly to the logged-in user.

  2. The Select User Group pop-up should not be displayed.

  3. The alert should automatically be acknowledged.

  4. Acknowledged = TRUE should be set as part of the same action.

  5. Ownership assignment and acknowledgement should occur within a single workflow.
