This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

As opposed to using REST API to create calculation poller data, we would be able to define expressions that use the pollable fields to create new AWS objects for metrics. (Examples of this can include In and Out metrics translated from their bits/bytes conversion to alt object measurements, Combined Objects for EgressIngress traffic for bps. Max Value indicators for instances to be defined to allow percentage based graphs to be drawn.
Today we can use API to make the caluculation poller objects required for the metrics we need, but this requires us to make separate objects for each device, with the instance environment changing names and new devices automatically discoverying, we would have to create an automation for the calc poller to check for new devices and update them. It would be easier if we could set the global variables in the object types for the AWS environment.
In a way, the object type expressions and synthetic indicators are just a global CoC instead of a device based polling mechanism.
