In-Platform User Analytics Dashboard for Adoption and Process Efficiency Measurement

Native reports on user analytics capability within IBM Targetprocess that captures behavioral telemetry including page dwell time, feature usage, navigation patterns, click counts, and workflow completion times to establish baseline measurements and track improvements in adoption and process efficiency over time.

Building on prior requests for enhanced audit logging and multi-login frequency tracking, this idea represents a significant step forward: the introduction of a purpose-built user analytics layer within IBM Targetprocess that enables data-driven measurement of both user adoption and process efficiency. The specific capabilities requested include: (1) identification of pages and views users spend the most time on, as well as reported usage rates for specific features and functionality; (2) navigation patterns and common user journeys through the platform; (3) the number of clicks or actions performed within key workflows; and (4) time spent completing common activities or processes end-to-end. The overarching goal is to establish verifiable baseline measurements upon the initial rollout and then continuously track improvements over time as platform enhancements, configuration changes, and net-new functionality are introduced. This analytics capability should be surfaced through an administrative dashboard and/or exportable reports, enabling platform owners and IBM delivery teams to correlate product changes with measurable shifts in user behavior.

This feature would require an event-capture layer embedded in the Targetprocess front-end (leveraging existing session context and user identity) to record structured telemetry events — page views, feature interactions, workflow step transitions, and session durations — which would then be stored in a tenant-isolated analytics data store and surfaced through a dedicated administrative analytics dashboard with options for CSV/Excel export and, ideally, a REST API for integration with external BI tools. The user-facing experience would consist of a secure, role-gated 'Platform Insights' or 'Usage Analytics' section visible only to administrators, presenting pre-built reports alongside date-range filtering, user-segment filtering, and trend-over-time visualizations so that platform owners can monitor adoption trajectories, identify underutilized features, and measure the impact of each product release on actual user behavior.
