When views are filtered, present them the same way as unfiltered views - with each folder shown once and views under it

The recently added view filter could be very useful, but when using any filter, the appearance is changed dramatically; instead of showing folders, with a list of views under them, the parent folder is shown separately for every view.  So if 5 views are shown in the same folder, we see the folder 5 times.  This creates a very cluttered appearance and undoes the value of having the filter at all.  I wanted to be able to hide all my private views, but the resulting appearance is so awful that I immediately abandoned using it.
The most intuitive way to do this is to show views exactly the same way as the native presentation, but hide any views that don't pass the filter.  If the entire folder is rejected by the filter, hide the folder as well.   The filtered view should do the same thing as hiding views - except doing it by filter parameter instead of individually hiding views.
In addition, the filtered list seems to ignore the Hide status, showing everything that meets the conditions, even if it's hidden.  There should be an option to respect or override the current hide status.

Did you get any user input on this implementation??? I can't think of any reason someone would prefer the current appearance of filtered views.
