This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.
Welcome to the IBM Ideas Portal (https://www.ibm.com/ideas) - Use this site to find out additional information and details about the IBM Ideas process and statuses.

Turbonomic uses Minimum and Maximum Observation Periods to make recommendations. These Min/Max values can be adjusted in polices that are applied to certain workloads included in the Scope of the policy. The Min/Max values that are available vary depending on the type of Policy.
Minimum Observation Period - This setting ensures historical data for a minimum number of days before Turbonomic will generate an action based on the percentile set in Aggressiveness. This ensures a minimum set of data points before Turbonomic generates the action.
More Elastic = No minimum
Less Elastic = Elasticity decreases as values increase
Max Observation Period - Turbonomic uses historical data from up to the number of days that you specify as a sample period. The recommended Max Observation Period generally is for 30 days.
More Elastic = Elasticity increases as values increase
Less Elastic = Elasticity decreases as values decrease
Aggressiveness is another factor to consider and can be adjusted. When evaluating utilization of compute and storage resources, Turbonomic considers a given utilization percentile. For example, assume a 95th percentile which is used by default. The maximum utilization would be the highest value that 95% of the observed samples fall below. Using a percentile, Turbonomic can recommend more relevant actions, so that analysis can better exploit elasticity in your environment.
