Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Post your ideas

Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,

  1. Post an idea

  2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you

  3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea

Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests

The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.

Receive notifications on the decision

Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Please use the following category to raise ideas for these offerings for all environments (traditional on-premises, containers, cloud):

  • Cloud Pak for Multicloud Management

  • Cloud Pak for Network Automation - incl Orchestration and Performance Management

  • Cloud Pak for Watson AIOps - incl Netcool Operations Management portfolio

  • Edge Application Manager

  • IBM Observability with Instana

  • ITM-APM Products - incl IBM Tivoli Monitoring v6 and Application Performance Monitoring v8

  • Workload Automation - incl Workload Scheduler

  • Tivoli System Automation - inc Tivoli System Automation Application Manager (SA AM), Tivoli System Automation for Multiplatforms (SA MP)

If you encounter any issues accessing the Ideas portals, please send email describing the issue to ideasibm@us.ibm.com for resolution.

APAR IV69547 has been created to update the dynamic agent. The flag (JOB_OBJECT_LIMIT_BREAKAWAY_OK) will be added into TaskLauncher so that it will be inherited by jobs running on Dynamic agents too. This should be made as an optional setting (loca...

Conman equivalent for dynamic agents

Currently, dynamic agents have no capability to track the workload on the system where the dynamic agent is installed (only the TDWC can be used for this task). An equivalent of conman would be required to track workload on the dynamic agent.

TDWC EXTERNAL PREDS ISSUE

When trying to add a external predecessor via the TDWC you need to use the application's full name. Need additional Job-Name filter to select explicit job(s) as external predecessor dependency. Like ABC123P%. We need you to provide the ability to...

TDWC current plan add issues

 When adding an application into the current plan VIA the TDWC there is no way of changing the jobs in the app. For example- if you need to change a workstation we can't as it don't list the jobs in the app when doing the add operation. Also  Yo...

Unable to do Simple Job Restart with TDWC

When using the TDWC we should have the options of simple job restart in the drop down menu for job recovery processing. Only have fast restart available. this is essentially procedural as we can “ready” the job as such there is a viable work aroun...

Need a way to visualize TWS objects in a text mode in DWC

Our user base depends on text visualization and the ability to view, modify, update TWS objects in a text format. This is not via Composer. DWC has no such functionality and we are trying to deploy DWC but adoption will be slow without some way to...

Check the OPENS dependency last

Check the OPENS dependency last. OPENS is satisfied BEFORE any FOLLOWS so when we check for database processes being there, the OPENS has already been done, and the the FOLLOWS hold the job up, and when it runs the database has come down.
