I often use matrix tables as visuals in my power bi reports. With Apptio Cloudability now utilizing the Apptio BI engine, this would be a powerful way to enhance its table capability. The Table visual itself is necessary for many situations, and having it able to do a matrix table would make it more powerful. My example situation is when I have a table that has one or more fields for the columns (list of servers). The cells would be the cost of that server, and the "dynamic" columns would be by having the column be the week number of the year. I'd filter the time range for the report for a period of time and instantly able to see when servers appeared out of nowhere from a cost standpoint. Useful for discovering new costs, and changes of cost over time - rather than a noisy stacked graph that isn't very useful after a certain number of servers/whatnot that you are splitting it by. I can show is as an example. There are other uses for matrix also.
This would make me able to do more rapid analysis like this - today I export the data out of an apptio visualization table, and import the csv into power bi to do it. This would make those visuals real-time and not have manual steps to make them ad hoc.
