Need to monitor compiled python applications with any name of the application

Dear Colleagues,

Our customer is using third party python application that they need to trace and monitor, the third-party vendor has issued the application image instrumented with Instana, but the application is compiled for performance reasons and the executable file named with the meaingful name for the application.

The Agent’s Python Sensor (not the Instana Python Package or Python Tracer) looks for the list of current processes running in the host (or container), and there is no way to inspect their content unless the process name and its arguments. The list of processes we look for when running common Python apps is: "gunicorn," "uwsgi," and "python."

We need to be able to monitor those applications with python sensor, one possible option would be adding a list of process names for the python plugin in configuration.yaml to define processes list for the python sensor.

Thank you
