Option to add multiple Humio repositories for log monitoring

There are many use cases where there is no single repository for an entire cluster in Humio. Each application/team have their own repository in Humio but the application is running on the same kubernetes cluster (e.g., Production).

Instana, right now, gives us option of adding the service url and 1 repository.

The idea is to give the access to more humio repositories so that applications in different repos but using same k8s resources can be integrated with instana.

Currently we only have option for one repository and that creates a problem.

    Hi Mike,

What is the use case? What are they using the logs for in Humio? How do they correlate the logs in Humio with Instana data?

The Instana strategy is not to build integrations to third party log aggregation solutions.

    Regards,

    Paul.

Hi Paul, well but if client is still having a well sized log mgmt tool like Logscale or ELK it makes sense to integrate it as best as possible. Not every client is willing to migrate their LogMgmt to Instana. And how about applications, appliances, network components which are not able to integrate into instana ?

    Best regards Mike

Our strategy is to not require third party log aggregators to enable Instana to monitor log files - the strategy is to exploit the OTEL and Instana agent capabilities.

Please could you indicate if the capabilities we are proposing does not meet use cases that are required by you?

    Thanks, Instana Team Logging.

I hope you are doing well.

Can you update me if any progress has been made on this feature. Or can you give me a timeline on when it could be implemented?

We would like to better understand the underlying use case for this request. Could you provide your availability for the next few weeks in order to setup a research interview?
