Support for platforms such as Docker and Azure to deploy a PoP for synthetic monitoring

We are users of the Instana APM solution and have been trying out the Synthetic Monitoring feature to help ensure the performance and availability of our applications. However, we have found that the current implementation of this feature only supports Kubernetes deployed through Helm charts, which limits the usefulness as we do not want the PoPs inside the cluster we want to monitor.

As users of other platforms, such as bare metal Linux, Docker and Azure, we would like you to consider adding support for these platforms as well, similar to how you add Instana agents (see pictures). This would allow us to continue to use Instana's powerful Synthetic Monitoring capabilities in our preferred environment and ensure that our applications are performing optimally.

Additionally, we are currently using Pingdom to provide uptime and transaction tests, and we believe that Instana's Synthetic Monitoring feature could replace the need for this product. By supporting a wider range of platforms, Instana could become the single source of truth for application performance monitoring across all of our environments.

We believe that this enhancement would not only benefit us, but many other Instana users who are looking to use Synthetic Monitoring on different platforms. We appreciate your consideration of this request and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hello Erik, have you considered using Instana Managed PoPs? or deploying your own PoP in a new k8 cluster (K3S is also supported) outside the one you want to monitor?
