Hope to make the date accelerated when the Turbonomic's new function is supported officially which recommends the end users to optimize cloud cost.

Backgroumd

My customer is considering embedding Turbonomic to their own cloud management service. At this time, the customer is using VMware's product as ARM in their service. But, it doesn't get Azure's billing data via API.

Currently, Turbonomic doesn't have such a function as well, but if it can get Azure's billing data, the customer will replace VMware's product to IBM's Turbonomic.

I heard Turbonomic is considering a new function about connecting with Azure. The details is the following.

<A new function which has been considering by Turbonomic>

・Linking Azure Plan's billing data to Turbonomic via MCA API(Microsoft Customer Agreement API)

・Based on the billing data, Turbonomic analyze Azure's IT resources and allows the end users to recommend optimized instance type dynamically.

Request

We Hope to make the date accelerated when the Turbonomic's new function is supported officially.

Prospected effect

We will be able to ensure revenue if the customer replace VMware's product to Turbonomic. Also, the customer will be able to suggest their own service with a greater advantage than they have now and expand their business.

Additional information

Recently, Microsoft announced Azure Plan which is a new fee structure of Azure for its business partner.

The MCA capability is currently in Private Preview and performs scaling in MCA for VMs and Volumes.

I do not have any materials as of yet. As far as RI support, it is completely in the hands of the Microsoft development team. I have not received any new information on the request.

    Hi Victor,
Thank you for your comment. I understand that the
functionality is going to be released in Q3.
If you know any materials or official announcements about it, could you please share me?
Also, for the supporting of RIs, when is the specific date of getting added to their backlog? How likely is it that the functionality will be developed?

This functionality is already in development for all three cloud service providers. We are expecting Azure and AWS to be released in Q3. The only issue is that the API for Azure MCA does not currently support RIs. We have been in conversations with Microsoft about this and hopefully it will get added to their backlog soon.
