This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Background - Met with the customer, did some troubleshooting and we finally concluded that the some of the calls in the VMs which are made in Instana are not being captured. Because these calls are not being captured, the dependancy mapping is not happening in Instana, thus most of VMs even though they are part of the application perspective (which customer says) are being displayed in unmonitored resources category/infrastructure view in Instana. Thus when we see the application perspective we only see about 4-5 VMs, and the others VMs are part of either unmonitored resources/infrastructure resources. Since Instana is not able to identify the remanining VMs as part of application presprective, this problem exists. Currently, the account team is working with Instana support to figure out why are they not seeing calls, traces, etc. If fixed, this could eventually lead to dependancy mapping and then the VMs will eventually be displayed from Application perspective. Thus, Turbonomic can query and can get all the VMs associated with App perspective.
From Turbonomic side, the design is working as expected. For now, I am marking this Idea as 'Not under consideration'. Thanks!
