Golang AutoTrace

Add AutoTrace for Golang. Besides our custom operators, a lot of Kubernetes components are written in Golang. We would like tracing for Golang without having to update the code.

I suspect the approach would likely need to use eBPF instead of using the Golang libraries because the libraries would require updates to a code base and is unlikely to be available at deployment time.

    Thanks for clarifying.

Unfortunately this requirement is not currently in our roadmap and will not be for the next 12/18 months.

As an alternate you might want to try to use other tools (like service mesh) and sent the generated traces to Instana, as our Instana Host Agent support Jaeger, Zipkin and OpenTelemetry consumption.

Correct, zero code change for Golang tracing in k8s environment.

I'm looking for call flow information. Consider a third-party k8s controller/operator written in golang that provisions cloud resources. I likely don't have the ability to add the agent module, so all troubleshooting is dependent on logs and maybe metrics. Even a basic view of errroneous distributed call information with source and destination for these components would be helpful.

Thanks for reaching out! We are looking at oppurtunity to leverage eBPF.

    Just to clarify:
Are you specifically looking for zero code change Golang autotracing for k8s environment?

Which information are you looking for? Since I think tracing context information scraped by ebpf based approach tends to be less rich as Go tracing that requires code change.
