This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Management, Technology Cost Management, Network Automation and AIOps products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thanks Henning!
There is also the build in "Host availability detection" rule when creating a new event. Did you try to leverage this event already? If you did, can you explain why it does not meet your requirements?
In addition, we are working on a solution to detect crashing agents faster and alert on these crashes. Let me know if your idea also goes into this direction.
Thanks & best
Henning
Hi Henning.
Thanks for your response. Our intention with this request would go a little further. We'd like to have an understanding of unavailable agents and be able to alert on this through Instana instead of building something ourselves.
Kind regards
Henning
To expose the Agent's HTTP endpoints to all host interfaces, please add the line
http.listen=*
to the config file<instana-agent-dir>/etc/instana/com.instana.agent.main.config.Agent.cfg
. This will make the health endpoint available to remote clients.Best regards
