Source address to traces/calls

It would be great to have some kind of source information always visible for traces/calls.

However it is not always feasible to have the source application instrumented, or even to have an Instana-agent installed on the source host/node.

Could you please look into developing something to Instana, so that we could see at least some information for the source of calls in these cases also?

IP address for example would be great, or if there is any other possible information to squeeze out.

    Sorry for the late response.

    We do not plan to record those information per default, as it can contain sensitive customer infromation.

    Hi,

    it does help indeed. What I am still hoping is to see something like that for source information in Instana as per default. I can use for example these though at least in some cases to help myself out here.

    For unmonitored source, if it is a HTTP call, then you can put identifier as custom HTTP Header, and configured it in Instana Host Agent so you can identify the source
