Pod readiness alert should heed delay settings

We've got some issues with the pod readiness event. Some of our pods need some time to start. To make up for this we've set the initialDelaySeconds value on our probes.

However the pod unready probe does alert after a pod has been unready for a minute no matter what the initialDelaySeconds value states.

From our perspective there is not help in triggering an event on an unready pod when it can't be ready by definition.

The existing event should either be adapated made configureable or a new event should be added the takes the pod configuration like initialDelaySeconds into account.

    Hi Jayanth

Sorry for the late answer. On behalf of Henning here is some more information:

The event we are talking about is
"Kubernetes Pod condition status" - description: "When a Kubernetes Pod reports 'Not Ready' state for more than one minute"
reporting "Condition [Ready]: Pod containers are not ready" events on the events page.

I would send some screenshots too but I did not find any way to upload an attachment here :)

Hi Henning! Nice to e-meet you. My name is Jayanth, I'm the Product Manager for Kubernetes at Instana. I'm looking into this idea moving forward!

Your idea makes sense, an event shouldn't be triggered.

Just so I have sufficient context, can you share a couple screenshots of which events exactly you're referring to in your account?

Thanks for bringing this idea to our attention! The use case makes sense and we will come back to it soon once we can make it part of an initiative.
