Bill of IT Data Sharing to 3rd Party Apps like Microsoft Power-BI

As TBMA, I get several requests from our Business and Technology Stakeholders  who want an API access from Apptio Bill of IT to feed data to 3rd  party Applications like Power BI which their team manage and own to integrate reporting data. We recently got such report request with 25+ attributes in rows section of report and 18 metrics/calculated metrics in value section with Year to date time setting. There are BoIT system constraints in terms number of columns a report can have and we are unable to create report so we are looking at options like splitting the request in 2-3 reports and ask requester to create a Join in Power BI between these 2-3 reports to get the entire data.

I am looking for best practice for these kind of report for API integration.  Please suggest alternatives and what worked for you for such requests.

Published Tables have been release under beta.  The feature can be enabled TBM Studio > Projects > Enable Features > Published Tables.

A new entity type will be available in the Project Explorer left panel.  A new Published Table can be created from scratch (Home > New > Published Table) or from an existing table on a report (report, <right-click> on a table report component, select Create Published Table).

Published Tables can be modified just like a table on a report using the Ad Hoc Configuration panel.

To capture the API, in Project Explorer, <right-click> on the Published Table name.

Published Tables will be released as GA in the R12.11.6 release on May 24, 2024.

The Published Table feature released in 2024 enable the ability to create an API URL based on a desired set of table dimensions, modeled metrics, calculated metrics, and time aggregation. Please refer to the Published Tables for Export help documentation for more information.
